What is the outbreak challenge?
We’re excited to partner with The Outbreak app to host a thrilling virtual race that is also a zombie-themed game we can play together!
In The Outbreak, zombies have taken over and the world needs heroes. Use your real-world steps to battle and run from zombies during an interactive adventure in a virtual apocalyptic wasteland.
Here’s the most exciting part: Monsters Among Us is hosting our own challenge for you to join!
Our virtual race begins on April 15, and will go for 30 days. The team that makes it to the Safe House at the end of the race first will win free tickets to a future race, and a signed MAU poster for each player. Every player who participates and completes the challenge will receive a real-life medal from The Outbreak.

The Outbreak easily pairs with your FitBit, Apple Watch, and other smart wearables, and is available on both Apple and Google app stores.

how to join our mau virtual race!
STEP 1: Follow this link to download The Outbreak app and purchase a ticket to join the race.

STEP 2: Once you have your ticket, and created your virtual player, your player will be in a virtual waiting room. Click the button in the upper right corner to put in your invite code to join the Monsters Among Us virtual race.

STEP 3: Create your team. You can play alone or invite your friends to join your team. Even if you want to play as a one-person team, you still need to create a team. This means making a team name and designing your team flag.
*Note: You may notice the MAU team in the waiting room, don’t attempt to join our team (Derek, Sarah and Addey). We need challengers to play against (don’t worry, we still love you). But please create your own team.
STEP 4: Once you’ve created your team, you’re all set. Now wait patiently for the race to officially begin on April 15! See you soon in the zombie wasteland!
Note: You MUST be signed up and in the virtual waiting room when the race begins on April 15, you cannot join after the race has already begun.
